[DE] Stella Flatten beschäftigt sich in ihrer forschungsorientierten künstlerischen Praxis mit der Aneignung von Raum. Fragen der Lesbarkeit von Geschichte in der gebauten Umwelt und das Graben als Methode im Kontext von gesellschaftlichen und aktivistischen Prozessen stehen dabei im Zentrum. Stella Flatten studierte Geographie, Soziologie und Raumpsychologie in Bochum und Berlin. Sie arbeitete u.a. am Institut für Metropolenforschung an der Universität Amsterdam/ Universiteit van Amsterdam, der Bartlett School/ University College London und zur Zeit ist sie am Lehrstuhl von Prof. Folke Köbberling am Institut für Architekturbezogene Kunst der Technischen Universität Braunschweig. Darüber hinaus arbeitet sie an ihrer Promotion zum Thema „Graben“ bei Prof. Susanne Hauser an der Universität der Künste Berlin am Institut für Geschichte und Theorie der Gestaltung. Als Promovendin ist sie Teil des Leibniz-Wissenschaftscampus „Postdigitale Partizipation“.

[EN] Stella Flatten's artistic practice is research based and focuses on the appropriation of space. Her work centers on questions about legibility of history in the built environment as well as digging as a method for social and activist processes. Stella Flatten studied geography, sociology and spatial psychology in Bochum and Berlin. She has worked at the Institute for Metropolian Studies at the University of Amsterdam/ Universiteit van Amsterdam, the Bartlett School/ University College London and is currently at the chair of Prof. Folke Köbberling at the Institute for Architecture-Related Art at the Technical University of Braunschweig. She is also working on her doctorate on the subject of "Digging" with Prof. Susanne Hauser at the Berlin University of the Arts at the Institute for the History and Theory of Design. As a doctoral candidate, she is part of the Leibniz Science Campus “Postdigital Participation“.
